Illinois DNR Endangered Species Update

IAEP welcomes you to attend this live presentation featuring an Illinois Department of Natural Resources Endangered Species Update which will include a review of the EcoCat process, consultation, IDNR recommendations, protection of species and permitting. One of the species that will be addressed is the Northern long-eared bat and how IDNR protection differs from the US Fish and Wildlife 4(d) ruling. This will be a very informative presentation that will help consultants, academics, engineers and municipality staff come away with a better understanding of the IDNR perspective and consultation process.

SPEAKER Keith Shank, Impact Assessment Section Manager (Acting), Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Springfield, Illinois

Mr. Shank provides oversight of staff involved in implementing endangered species consultation and incidental taking, fish & wildlife coordination with the Army Corps of Engineers, administration of the Illinois Interagency Wetland Policy Act of 1989, compliance with cultural resources protection requirements, comments on federal NEPA documents, military Sikes Act compliance (IRMPs), and oversight of the wildlife impacts of commercial wind energy deployment.  IAEP is pleased to have Mr. Shank come up to Bartlett to give this presentation.
